Interactive Ontario Game ON: Ventures 2016 – Apply by August 2016 MaRS Discovery District (101 College St, Toronto)

GameON: Ventures is a conference that connects business leaders in the video game industry. Keynotes, panels, presentations, a pitch competition and an interactive digital media expo will share evolving business models, creative ideas and the latest technologies, while receptions, lunches and facilitated networking will provide opportunities to meet potential partners, clients and collaborators. This year’s event takes place October 20 & 21, 2016 at MaRS in Toronto. New this year are an international expo open to all forms of interactive digital media, a pitch competition, more opportunities to meet fellow delegates and a greater emphasis on international speakers to share insights from their markets and territories. The conference will examine topics such as merchandising and other off-screen revenue sources, working with publishers, collaborating with studios from emerging markets and finding the business opportunities in new platforms. Sessions will provide both learning opportunities and inspiration for those in the business of games. GameON: Ventures is now in its ninth year.

Past editions have featured speakers from companies such as Rovio, Kickstarter, Konami, Capybara Games, Ubisoft, Games for Change Europe, Tapjoy, Microsoft, INDE Appshaker, Skybound Entertainment, Pop Sandbox and Gameloft.  This event includes a three-day Emerging Innovators Pitch Competition taking place during the CNE with a $25,000 grand prize. Youth-led Technology Start-up Pitch Competition – IIT ACIC Conference 2016

The IITAC International Conference is being organized in Toronto on October 1, 2016 at Sheraton Parkway Hotel and Suites, Richmond Hill, Ontario, in the greater Toronto area. To celebrate and recognize emerging innovation and entrepreneurial talent Venture Lab is holding a Pitch Competition during the Conference. Participation for the pitch competition is open to teams having at least one youth between the age 18 to 29 years from university, college, research institution, incubator, and accelerator. Proposed start-up ideas must be technology-based solutions with practical application and commercial value. There is no fee for participating for cash and awards in kind for winners. Apply here:
