The Prize of the Prairies is returning as part of UP25, giving early-stage startups across Western Canada the chance to pitch their companies live in front of leading founders, investors, and members of the region’s tech ecosystem.

The competition invites ambitious startups to apply for the opportunity to present on stage during the event, where selected finalists will showcase their ideas and traction to a panel of judges and a live audience. In addition to gaining visibility among investors and industry leaders, participating founders will have the chance to build new partnerships and connect with peers shaping the future of the Prairie tech community.

At stake is $30,000 in non-dilutive funding, designed to help winning startups accelerate product development, expand their teams, or reach new customers without giving up equity. Organizers say the competition aims to spotlight the next generation of founders emerging from the Prairies while strengthening the region’s growing innovation ecosystem.

For many startups, the event represents more than just a pitch competition. It is an opportunity to gain exposure on a regional stage, receive feedback from experienced judges, and connect with investors and operators who are actively supporting high-growth companies across the Prairies. Finalists will pitch live during UP25, joining a lineup of founders, innovators, and ecosystem leaders gathering to celebrate and advance entrepreneurship in the region.
