As the Programs Intern, you will work with the ventureLAB team and partners, to produce programs, initiatives and events for entrepreneurs in York Region.
Specifically, your role will work closely with the Programs and Venture Growth teams to onboard new companies, assess and monitor company status, offer support by curating educational content, events, programs, and services available to technology entrepreneurs in all industry sectors.
ventureLAB is a leading technology hub located in Markham in York Region, Canada’s second largest tech cluster. Through its programs focused on capital, talent, technology, and customers, ventureLAB has supported over 2,000 tech companies and entrepreneurs. ventureLAB’s innovation hub is a 50,000 square foot facility that is home to over 45 tech companies and partners. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a wide range of professionals, including the ventureLAB team, tech entrepreneurs, industry executives, public and private sector partners.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Working closely with the Programs and Venture Growth teams, you will:
Onboard new company accounts into ventureLAB Programs
Interview and engage with entrepreneurs to better understand their needs
Curate content for the Programs Newsletter
Research speaker(s) and workshop(s) ideas
Support in the creation and implementation of a Volunteer Mentor catalogue/database
Assist in the execution of clinics, workshops, and community events aimed at helping entrepreneurs, and gather data for reporting
Skills & Requirements:
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a business, entrepreneurship, or related-field degree or diploma program
Proven work experience in event management, marketing, and/or program coordination
Strong customer service orientation and communication skills
Excellent organization and time management skills
Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision while also effectively collaborating with staff and partner organizations
Experience working with start-ups is an asset
