Position: Marketing Manager, Events and Communication  

What you’ll do: 

As the Marketing Manager, Events and Communication, you’ll lead, produce, and create engaging digital and physical events along with leading all communication activities to tell our story, promote our products, and enhance our brand. We are looking for a creative mindset who thrives in managing every detail to create BioConnect’s signature events, everything from large booths at in person industry events to thought leadership Virtual webinars. You’ll have some experience managing marketing events (physical and digital) and have a background in marketing, digital media, marketing analytics and social media. You enjoy writing and are a storyteller, you have a passion for creating new ways to drive engagement from prospects, current customers, partner and fellow employees.  

As the Marketing Manager – Events and Communication, you will work closely with the executive, sales and marketing teams to develop and execute quarterly event and communications game boards and drive engagement from the top of the sales funnel to our raving customers. The candidate will need to be comfortable with being a self-starter and with English as a language. The candidate should also be able to travel outside of Canada (mainly to the US) for in person trade shows and other partner events. 

The ideal candidate is proactive, with a keen eye for finding marketing opportunities everywhere—from client or subject matter interviews, customer and partner testimonials, features or “news” stories, our product team and industry influencers. The ideal candidate knows how to manage gameboards (quarterly plans) and deliver on time.

Key Responsibilities/ Requirements: 

  • Deliver Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as part of the marketing team. 
  • Work in a team environment, with stakeholders from a wide variety of departments to lead all marketing communications activities: Marketing, Product, Sales Engineering, Customer Success and Finance. 
  • Design and produce physical and digital events for all lines of BioConnect’s business; including event email campaigns, internal and external event promotions, speaker and partner management, primary liaison for all external event contractors and responsible to event budget management. 
  • Hybrid work environment: must have the ability to work from our Liberty Village office at least one day per week. 

 Experience and Qualifications: 

  • 2+ Years’ experience producing and creating engaging digital and physical events. 
  • 2+ Years’ experience with marketing communications and can provide written samples from marketing campaigns you have created. 
  • Proven ability to work with subject matter experts and thought leaders to turn ideas into compelling stories and social media posts 
  • Experience with Salesforce and Pardot preferred. 
  • Experienced in writing both short-form and long-form content (brochures, emails, blogs…) 
  • A degree in Marketing or related discipline is an asset.  
  • Tech-oriented, with familiarity with tech and software industry, as well as B2B marketing is an asset 
  • You are comfortable learning new software and technology. A highly collaborative, flexible mindset and can-do attitude. 
  • Professionalism, time management skills, and the ability to work both independently and part of a team.
